Children are drawn to birds in all their amazing variety nurturing a sense of wonder. They delight in watching these wonderful creatures as they fly, forage, interact with each other and sing their songs. They learn to appreciate how birds play an important role in the ecosystem by pollinating, dispersing seeds and helping to maintain a balance between plants and animals. 

Humans have an innate affinity to other living beings.
In recent years early educators have recognized this affinity in young children and encourage it in play, nature based environments and activities, outdoor time, stories and song.
This collection will focus on the birds that share our earth and depend on us to ensure their habitats on land, air or sea are fit for their very survival.

Birds sing to us and we sing about birds. My bird collection originated in its original home Creatures great and small as part of the ‘Song cupboard’ treasury and has grown without trying; it has flown way past the !MAGIC NUMBER 21! target for achieving its own page –
So here we are ‘Birds of a feather’ gathered together!
