A folk revival was in the air in the 1950s /60s /70s. This coincided with me picking up a guitar, going to folk clubs in Brighton and ending up as a student teacher in a house full of talented fellow enthusiasts which complemented entering a world of children’s music!
We set up a popular folk club at the college and had plenty of free time to practice and hone our meagre skills.
It was also the era of the folk greats and song collectors in the U.K. and the U.S.A. such as Joan Baez, Pete Seeger, Cyril Tawney and so many more.
Many of the songs here I found in books and pamphlets I had collected around this time, they are now yellowed and tattered with age and use!
